Number the Stars-Synopsis 10

Number the stars is an autobiographical book written by Lois Lowry. This book is an autobiographical book that talks about the jews discrimination by the Nazi in Copenhagen, Denmark. The protagonist is Annemarie Johansen, a ten-years old girl. One day Annemarie and her best friend Ellen, who is Jewish, are stopped by a soldier on their way home. Annemarie and her family help Ellens family, the Rosens, to escape in Sweden. Annemarie help the Rosens go in Sweden by going with her uncle on a boat directed in Sweden. Annemarie is proud of saving Jews but at the same time she is scared and sad because she doesn't know if she will ever see again her best friend Ellen. When Ellen go away she give to Annemarie her Star of David (Jews symbol) neckless and Annemarie for friendship keeps it although she isn't jew. She also risk because the war wasn't finished completely and it's dangerous to have a Jew symbol on the neck.163
